'I want your ugly, I want your disease
I want your everything as long as it's free'

Dean woke up and instantly reached for his flask of whiskey. He wrapped his hand around the cool metal and took a long swig. Sam looked over from his laptop but didn't say anything. This was their new existence, Dean didn't say anything about Ruby, and Sam didn't say anything about the screams in the night and mornings started off with liquor. Dean didn't care to know what Sam had gotten up too while he had been below, just about as much as he didn't want to talk about his own atrocities.

'Alistair...how am I supposed to do this on my own? Back to this life that I don't know how to deal with anymore. Why'd you let me go? Why'd you send me away?' Dean bit the inside of his cheek til he tasted blood mixed with the remains of the alcohol. He stood up and headed toward the small motel bathroom grunting out a hoarse "Shower," at Sam's look of concern.

Dean stripped out of his boxers and got in the shower, the hot water easing his tension and allowing his mind to wander.

There's a tender hand on his back, fingers slick with blood. “Dean, you did well today, you're learning so quickly. I'm proud.” His voice was soft, almost human. Dean leaned back into that caress, feeling fingers knead into his flesh hard enough to bruise, but to the tightness under Dean's skin from all of the work he'd done, the caresses felt like heaven.

“Proud of me? Really?” Dean chokes on his sobs as the water runs steaming down his back. Figures the only one who would be proud of him would be a demon, the only thing he could do worth a damn would be torture.

'You know that I want you
you know that I need you,
I want it bad, your bad romance'

The shower stays hot for about thirty more minutes. Dean runs his hand over the raised scar on his shoulder. He doesn't know what it's from, but he realizes that he's got none of the other scars that he used to have before he died, nor any of the ones that Alistair lovingly marked him with. He was criss-crossed with scars in the Pit.

It had all been after he got up from the Rack that he'd been given the loving scars, Alistair covered him with marks, with scars proving that he wasn't just some piece of meat in Hell, that he wasn't to be touched with hands other than the Torturers'. Alistair took a razor and carved his name around Dean's neck. Collared by a demon who loved him, in a way, collared by a demon who was proud of Dean's skills.

“I want them all back, every one...” The water was finally starting to go cold. Dean got out of the shower, wrapping the ever just too small towel around his waist and finishing up his morning routine, which included another hit of the small Jack Daniels bottle in his toiletries bag. After a few more hits off the flask and some lunch he was almost up for pretending things were fine.

They got in the car like nothing was wrong, and neither brother wanted to really talk about the severity of their respective problems. That each of them had demon issues. Bad Romance was a Winchester staple, as was the tense silence between brothers.

These two passages were among my favorites in the whole competition. I love stories about Dean's time in hell and the effects it had on him. This was really well done.

Thanks! :) I'm so pleased. Dean/Ali is kinda sorta my OTP...XD

The Stockholm syndrome that runs rampant in that pairing is too much awesome for me to pass up.

I'm super glad that you liked it!
